Honorable Mentions
The animals on this page are animals who have come out of our program and become a name worth knowing, or they are animals who have made a fierce statement in our own herd.
If you know the Charolais breed, there is a good chance you have heard of this bull. He was the highest selling Charolais bull in Canada in 2017, who we sold to Palmer Charolais for $49,000. In the top 1% for both WW and YW, he is a deep-bodied, easy-doing bull who produces heavy milking, productive females and stout, thick bull calves. He has made waves in the breed in multiple countries, having sons in Australia, Mexico, and New Zealand, including a son that sold for $50,000 (Silverstream Sandown S14 P), the highest selling Charolais bull in New Zealand 2022.

We bought MVP in 2012 from Pleasant Dawn Farms for $12,000, and what a buy he ended up being. A cornerstone in our breeding program, sire to Duty-Free, and the best herd bull to ever walk on this farm. When we bought this bull, our eyes were drawn to his calving ease and strong growth numbers; then as we began to see calves from him, we really started to see how consistent he produced quality. His daughters are tidy-uddered, heavy-milking, easy to work with females. His sons are soggy, easy-doing, performance bulls, with excellent dispositions. The EPDs on this bull do all the talking and he continues to have a large impact on our program to this day.

Miss Google has had 18 progeny on the farm, despite being inactive in the herd since Fall 2021. She has raised easily over $100,000 for us and it is clear why. She had perfect feet, oodles of milk, a deep body, yet a moderate frame, and of course, she is the dam to Duty Free. Over the course of her years of service on the farm, she always produced. She is also the dam to the high selling bred heifer "Miss Heidi 961F", who we sold to Palmer Charolais at our female sale in 2019.

Out of Duty Free, "Fortune" exhibits many of the same traits as his sire, his sons consistently stand-out in the bull pen while they are long, thick, soggy, hairy and easy doing, all while standing on a solid foot. His dam and granddam both contribute to the completeness of this bull, they are both impressive females with tremendous feet and tidy udders. We bought this bull from Palmer Charolais in 2019.

This deep bodied Ledger daughter has maintained a perfect udder and amazing feet in her time here at the Ranch. She raised our high selling bull at our sale in 2023, "Knockin Boots 604K" who went to R Lazy B Ranch in North Dakota for $35,000. 604C is off of "Whitecap Lady Eve 102A", who is a gold star dam. An interesting fact about this cow is that in all the calves she has had, she has only had 1 heifer to-date.

We bought this cow at the Sterling Collection sale in Saskatoon, from Hunter Charolais in 2014. She has had a beautiful udder her whole life, even at 12 years of age (pictured below), and raised the high selling "Landslide 334L" who sold for $23,000 to Wilgenbusch Charolais and Hunter Charolais in 2024. In 2019 we also sold a high selling female from 334A to Palmer Charolais for $15,000 at our female sale, "Turnbulls Miss Lady 905F". Overall, this cow has been a, smooth, long-made, consistent female in our herd.

736D is an eye catching cow off of 334A (see above). With her smooth shape, long build, stand-out feet, and appealing udder, she looks much like her dam. She raised the high selling bred heifer, "Turnbulls Miss Dawn 330K", that we sold to Beechinor Charolais at the 2023 Alberta Charolais Female Select. With her striking appearance and and excellent build, this is a cow that stands out in both form and function.

Born in 2011, this cow is currently the oldest cow active in our herd. Named after her dam (BDSC Advantage 16M), who we bought from the B & D Stroeve complete herd dispersal back in 2000, this cow has lasted for a good reason. Every female that this cow has ever had are currently active in our own herd (except for one who we sold to be used in a nearby herd). Customers of ours who have bought her genetics tend to be repeat buyers and this is not by chance.

Hernandez was one of the high sellers at the Elder Charolais bull sale in 2018, he is long, deep-quartered and an extremely athletic bull. The bulls that come from this sire mimic his qualities to a tee. We have used Hernandez on a variety of cows here at the ranch and have been pleased with all of the results.

When we went herd bull shopping in 2016, we came across Shoeless Joe at the Cedarlea bull sale. We instantly fell in love with how versatile this bull was. He was a calving ease bull who produced calves that were vigorous, full of hair, and exhibited tremendous growth. This is a bull that we would use both on heifers and cows, while never sacrificing any quality. As a son from the "Circle Cee Legend 307A", who is in top 1% for BW and SC, top 5% in CE, top 4% for MK, and top 20% for YW, it is no mystery as to why Shoeless Joe was such a stand-out herdsire.

Miss May is an absolute powerhouse and stood out in our 2020 heifer pen for obvious reasons! She went to Highway 21 Group for $24,500, the highest selling bred heifer at the Alberta Charolais Select Sale in 2020. An MVP Heifer with a deep quarter and extra thickness. Like the MVP females she is easy doing with an excellent disposition and a great set of numbers. Miss May's Dam was the high selling bred Heifer at Tully Hatch's Dispersal and definitely made her mark here at Turnbull Charolais.

Lady is an outstanding Blue Print Daughter that we sold at our Sharing Our Genetics sale in 2019 to Palmer Charolais for $15,000. We bought her Dam at the Sterling Sale in 2014 from Hunter Charolais, and she is without a doubt one of the best producing females in our herd. Miss Lady is a long bodied, big volume heifer, with a super disposition and is currently an active producing female in Palmar Charolais herd.

We sold Miss Deanie as the High selling Bred Heifer at our Sharing our Genetics sale to Steppler Charolais for $16,000. This Heifer is a powerful, deep quartered, thick made heifer. Her dam has been a phenomenal producer for us, she raised the high selling bull in our 2015 bull sale and a heifer walking in Hein's' purebred herd.

We sold this heifer as the High selling Heifer calf at our Sharing our Genetics sale to Elder Charolais for $10,750. Kelsey is a long bodied, wide topped, broody heifer. This female was definitely a favorite here!
